NYSESLAT Information
Who: All ESL students Kindergarten- 12th grade
What: New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test
*Students are tested in the areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing*
Speaking –>April Date to be announced
Listening, Reading, Writing –>May 4th-15th 2020
Each April and May, all ESL students are given the NYSESLAT or New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test. This test is designed to annually assess a student’s level of English in the areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
The NYSESLAT levels of second language acquisition were updated in 2015. It is now more common core aligned. The results of the NYSESLAT will reflect the new levels of second language acquisition.
Here the New Performance Levels :
