As part of our geometry math unit, we learned how to measure angles using a protractor. Remember these steps:

Step 1: Identify what kind of angle (acute, obtuse, or right)

Step 2: Line up the VERTEX of the angle with the hole on the protractor

Step 3: Line up the bottom ray of the angle with the line on the protractor.

Measure! But wait — if a protractor always points to 2 different numbers, you have to stop and think which angle measure makes sense.

Angles are lots of fun because they appear everywhere! A great way to practice working with angles is to create abstract art:

Challenge: Create an original piece of artwork that uses all kinds of angles and polygons. Use color to make your artwork come to life!

Bring in your artwork so we can display it in our classroom art gallery!
