Welcome to the MakerEd: Textiles teacher professional development day. In this session, you will learn about how the maker movement is impacting adults, students and industries across the world. We will specifically look at E-Textiles which bridges many art and technology concepts into one way to create fun projects.

2. Investigate Maker Activities: Browse the Make magazine to look for examples of what people are making. Find one example that interests you to share with the group.

Let’s take a look at the different components of LilyPad.
11:00: Time to Make!
Grab a Sew Electric book to get started. Flip through the book before you begin to browse the different projects that are available. We will be starting off with first project, the bookmark.
When you are ready to begin, come to the front of the room to gather your materials from the resource table. You can find a list of the needed resources in the Sew Electric book.
