Moon Phase BDAY Card

Do you think the moon phases will be the same? Why or why not?
Activity Directions
1 – Retrieve white chalk and construction paper from the student resource table. Fold the black piece of construction paper in half. This will be your moon phase Bday card. The chalk will be used to draw your moon phases.
2 – Log into https://stardate.org/nightsky/moon
3 – Enter the information for your actual date of birth and hit submit. Look at the calendar on the screen for your date. Draw the picture of the moon phase for your date on the inside left side of the card. At the top of the picture write the date of your birthday (month, date, year). Using your knowledge of moon phases label what moon phase is shown in the picture ( i.e waxing crescent, waning gibbous, etc) **HINT – If you need help use your textbook or the visuals created in class
4 – Enter the information for your upcoming birthday in 2016 or 2017. Draw the phase on the inside right side of the card. Follow the same directions above for labeling the picture with this date and phase.
5 – Decorate and title the font of the card.
