Congratulations to fifth-grader Oliver D., Cottage Lane Elementary School’s first Jets Upstander of the Week! His teachers say that Oliver is very friendly and inclusive of others, and makes sure that no one sits alone during lunchtime. CLE Upstanders are asked to partake in a writing exercise that helps them reflect on how they conduct themselves during the school day. Oliver wrote, “It’s important to work with everyone in class because you can meet new people and make friends.” Congratulations, Oliver, and keep up the great work!
This is the first year that Cottage Lane Elementary School has participated in the New York Jets and Stomp Out Bullying’s Upstander of the Week program, which aims to reduce and prevent bullying nationwide. Those recognized receive a t-shirt, two tickets to a Jets home game and a parking pass.
