“If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.
If you want to be happy, practice compassion.”
~ Dalai Lama

We Can Be Kind

  • Compassion is the sympathetic concern for the suffering of another.

  • Compassion is the emotion that one feels in response to the suffering of others that motivates a desire to help.

  • Compassion is a feeling of wanting to help someone who is sick, hungry, hurt, in trouble, etc.

Think of a time that someone showed you compassion.
What did they do? How did you feel?

Each class will receive a heart where you will write what the person did to show you compassion.
Remember to write the act not the person so these hearts will give us ideas.

Let’s watch this video to see how compassion is contagious!

Book of the Month:
The Three Questions by Jon J Muth

“Remember then that there is only one important time, and the time is now.  The most important one is always the one you are with.  And the most important thing is to do good for the one who is standing at your side.”

There are many stories of compassion right here in our own homes, schools and community.  We can change the world when we are filled with love.

How will your class show compassion?
