Cottage Lane Elementary School

Today, Cottage Lane was honored to have five Gold Star Families visit classrooms and attend our Memorial Day Assemblies. To culminate May’s Superpower, Patriotism, we celebrated and honored true superheroes. With the help of Mrs. Maureen Kelly, founder of Vetiquette, students read biographies of fallen soldiers and designed quilts for twenty-eight Gold Star Families. Students read The Poppy Lady by Barbara Walsh and were challenged to make pinwheel poppies in memory of a fallen soldier.

As a school community, we all know that Monday is more than just a day off from school. We are thankful for all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in protecting and defending our freedoms. Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless America!
