Distance Learning

Check this website for assignments, updates and announcements pertaining to Mr. Foley/Mrs. O’Connor’s social studies class. Assignments can be found under the 7th and 8th grade homework tabs.

Thanks for sharing assignments from last week. If you have not done them already, you can still do them. This week’s assignments are posted.

Share assignments like you have done throughout the year, or share on google classroom. Label your assignments when you share (for example, Task #1). Here are the google classroom codes, which Mrs. O’Connor has on her webpage as well:
7th, Period 3: jbsnnvq
7th, Period 9: f4fbfvc
8th, Period 2: hhc5xoa
8th, Period 4: ozkkft7

I will provide the specific chapter/lesson from the online textbook, as well as additional links, for your assignments. We will stay on schedule in terms of the curriculum. Mrs. O’Connor has a tab on her website that brings you to the online textbook. Here is another link to the online textbook:

All of the online textbook information can of course can be “googled”. That means you can get the information from the internet. For example, if you googled “the causes of WWI” you would find the same answers in the online textbook. The online textbook has everything in order, in a “story”. I think that is a better way to access the information, and is more enjoyable. But you can get the answers any way you want.

The online text allows you to interact in a manner of ways. Maps and charts are explained, and there is an audio version. It is more in-depth then the regular textbook.

You have the option to watch CNN 10 everyday (as long as it is still on). You do not have to do any assignments pertaining to CNN 10. If you would like to keep a log, like we do in school, continue to do that.
