The Fall Equinox is occurring on Saturday, September 23d this year at around 3:50AM. We will be celebrating this event in class on Friday, September 20th in our Science classes! This day is special because it marks the start of Autumn as well as provides equal hours of day and night.
Throughout the following unit of Astronomy, we will be exploring the following questions:
-What causes the seasons?
-Why does the temperature change?
-Why does the amount of daylight change throughout the year?
For the celebration, we are asking students to bring in food. You can bring in any food/drink that is associated with either the fall season or the sun (day/night).
If you are bringing in any items, please:
-Provide enough for 5-10 students
-Provide a list of ingredients
-If your child has allergies, please note that on the permission slip
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email us!
