Hello students,

Very much hoping this e-mail finds all of you healthy and well and that many of you took advantage of my enrichment activities that I was posting onto my web-site for the greater part of the last two weeks. I have missed you so much and can’t wait to reconnect again on Tuesday, March 31st, via ZOOM. It will certainly be a different experience and for many of us, there will be somewhat of a learning curve involved. I am hopeful, however, that if I (someone who has always been tech challenged as you very well know) can learn how to set up ZOOM meetings and create YouTube videos, you will be able to do so, as well! 🙂

Although our classes don’t officially begin until Wednesday, I would like you all to log into Zoom on Tuesday during the below listed times, so that we can iron out my expectations and discuss how we will proceed.

Please sign in during your below scheduled period with the following link: https://socsd.zoom.us/j/5743768243

Period 4 – 11:00 AM- Spanish II

My expectation is for all of you to join me on Tuesday. If for some extenuating circumstance, you are unable to participate and/or are experiencing technical difficulties, you must e-mail me by 4 PM on 3/31.

Looking forward to Tuesday! Until then, be well and stay healthy!

Perhaps a bit difficult, but maybe not;) Give it a try. 👍 It’s positive news for a change.

Watch each video first. Once you’ve watched and read the narration, write it down into your notebooks in its entirety. Look up any and all words you don’t know.

Hope you are all safe and staying healthy! Miss you!

Something a little cultural and fun-singing with Marc Anthony;))

Open up Lyricgaps.com, set to Spanish and find Marc Anthony’s Bailando. Watch and listen and then fill in the blanks. It would be great if you did this for a while today, with different songs;)

Hi kids! Today, if you’re interested, a little review. Please write down the explanations and translate any words that look unfamiliar to you in the video.

Three very important verbs. Happy (optional) learning;)

Les invito a hacer esto hoy. (I invite you to do this today). 😉

Watch the video and write down all of the expressions into your notebooks. Some will be new, some will be review.

Hi again,

Will be sending out these great little videos every few days. Please do, take notes and learn, if you have the time.👍

Hi everyone! So sorry that I won’t be seeing you for a while. 🙁

We have been given a directive from the State, that there are no official requirements for students to complete work until March 30th or March 31st. So
no class/homework until then.  However, if you would like to do enrichment activities and keep up with Spanish here are some suggestions:

1. Watch movies in Spanish or with Spanish subtitles

2. Watch Univision.com

3. Read BBCMundo.com every day for a few minutes.

4.Start Duolingo;)

If you have any questions at all, or would like me to forward you more structured activities for enrichment, please contact me at carietta@socsd.org. I will be checking my e-mail daily.

Most importantly, stay well,  try to practice social distancing and
we will all get through this. 👍

ASSIGNMENT FOR WEEK OF MARCH 16:

  1. Go to VHL Central and complete the vocabulary exercise “La Vivienda”
  2. Now repeat and write down all of the words from “La Vivienda” into your notebook- both Spanish and English
