Hillburn Poem

This year I entered another contest, that was created by Hillburn schools.  In the contest I had to write a poem about the struggle of getting the schools integrated.  I mentioned how the parents fought for equal rights of all the students, and how people were discriminated because of their race, or skin color.  Writing this poem really opened my eyes to things that happen close to us.  I had never heard of discrimination in Hillburn schools, continuing for as long as it did.  I had a lot of fun writing this poem, and it taught me a few things that I won’t forget.

You can reach my poem on this link.

My DDD-E form is on this link.

This is one of the Hillburn schools, that I wrote about in my poem.
