Many of you mentioned a desire to care for the Earth. We can begin caring for the Earth by being mindful of how our everyday actions in school and at home affect the environment.

3. On a slightly different topic, a school goal this year is to connect to our community (to be active citizens). List one way you can volunteer in our community sometime between now and Wednesday (9/11) to participate in September 11th’s Day of Volunteering.
1: We can turn off the lights to save energy from being wasted. This will help the earth by saving more fossil fuels to be burned which causes smoke
2: At lunch and in class put the right garbage in the right bins. Doing this will prevent recyclables to be thrown out instead of them being reused.
3: You can volunteer by just taking 45 min of your day just to go to a veterans grave and leave flowers or a american flag. Do it to honor those who died saving others in 9/11. Even just hanging a American flag shows respect.
1. We can be mindful for the earth in the classroom by taking care of our books. We will not have to get new books and use more paper. We can also re-read books so we don’t need new ones.
2. We can help the earth in our school by using trash bins or recycling bins outside. We need more trash bins outside, but we should never put garbage on the ground.
3. I can volunteer on 9/11 by playing with my younger neighbors and watching them so their parents can have some time to themselves.

1: One way we can be more respectful to are planet is recycling more and being more cautious about what we throw away. We can use more metal straws and forks and other utencils.
2: I think that all the students in CLE should recycle more. One way we can do that is get more recycling bins and try to not use plastic or paper or if you cant do that try to reuse your plastic or paper. such as paper bags,plastic bags, utencils and more.
3: I think that we all should car for the 911 day the day that people live were in serious danger. One way we could visit people who were in 911 another way we could help is
visiting some people who died in 911 and leave flowers at their grave.

1. The teacher’s easel. The teachers always waste the paper on the easels I think we should get whiteboard easels, it would save paper, plastic from the laminators, and ink from the printers.

2.The cafeteria would not sell plastic water bottles and have paper straws rather then plastic straws.

1.after you finish a book don’t throw out your post its ,out them in a notebook and talk about your post its with friends.
2.we can use reusable sandwich containers instead of wrapping it in aluminum foil everyday.

1. I think a good idea is to use scrap paper. Using scrap paper will help reduce the amount of paper used. Also, in art class a way to cut down on usage of paper is if you are using a big piece of paper, think: do you really need the full sheet?
2. I think that wasting food is very bad for our planet. 40% of food in America is wasted, that is around half of all food bought! When we waste food we use up precious resources.
3. A way to volunteer is to go down to your public library and help with the booksale. The booksale is to raise money for the library.
